Opposition alliance NASA leaders have challenged electoral body IEBC to ensure free, fair and credible polls during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking in Kakamega on Saturday, the opposition leaders cautioned IEBC against manipulating the process, saying they will not accept rigged elections.
“We will not accept rigging because we have put in place mechanisms to guard our votes. We are ready for change in August and Kenyans should vote overwhelmingly for NASA, the winning team,” Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka stated.
He further dismissed Ipsos Synovate's latest opinion poll that suggested that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is edging closer to President Uhuru Kenyatta at 42 per cent against Kenyatta's 47 per cent.
He observed that Mr Odinga's current approval rating is at more than 55 per cent.
“I have done my digital polls and as per Saturday, NASA’s popularity was at 55 per cent, but today with our official launch it has gone up to 60 per cent,” he said.
On their part, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi maintained that the Western region is firmly behind NASA even as Jubilee attempts to make inroads into the region.
