IEBC chief executive Ezra Chiloba has reaffirmed that the commission is ready for the August elections.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Radio Maisha, Chiloba said the commission had set a strategy as early as January 2016 with the election coming in August this year, and nothing else.

According to Chiloba, the downs experienced by the commission would not hinder the elections from taking place.

"IEBC had set its strategy as early as January 2016. The downs experienced by the commission like the selection of a new team that took over 3 months has done nothing to hinder the election from taking place come August," Chiloba said.

Chiloba reiterated that propaganda propagated by politicians was the root cause of the idea that the election date will be changed.

According to Chiloba, IEBC secretariat and the new team has been working towards the August 8, date and called on the people to be ready to vote.

"The idea that the commission is not ready for the August elections is false. The idea has been bred by politics of propaganda and I want to tell Kenyans that IEBC is ready for the August 8 elections," added Chiloba.
