The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Kabete parliamentary returning officer Esther Wanjohi has called on Kabete constituents to adhere to rules regarding parliamentary by-election.

Speaking on Thursday at Uthiru Primary School, Kabete Sub-County, during a voters' education Wanjohi urged the constituents to exercise caution when electing leaders.

“As voters you should elect a visionary leader; a man of integrity,” said Wanjohi.

She further urged them to adhere to rules during the by election.

Kabete -by election is slated on May 4, 2015 and it has nine aspirants. 

Wanjohi said that all the polling stations are ready and clerks will be dispatched on time.

“We have finalised all the procedures and all the polling stations are ready,” said Wanjohi..

She urged Kabete residents to carry their IDs and Passports to ensure they qualify for voting .

Wanjohi warned residents against involving themselves in malpractices.

“Incidences of bribery and intimations will not be allowed and those found soliciting voters will be prosecuted,” said Wanjohi.

The nine aspirants are Ferdinard Waititu (Jubilee Alliance Party), George Waiguru (an Independent Candidate), Isaiah Gichu Ndirangu (PDU's), John Wamagata (Safina), Kavore Kariuki (Narc-Kenya's ), Kiriro wa Ngugi (Democratic Party),  Newton Njenga (NVP's), Paul Kariuki Wandere (PPK) and Wilson Karanja Kamau (ODM).
