The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has refuted claims that it is planning to replace some of its staff ahead of the October 17, repeat presidential election.Reports had indicated that the electoral body had come up with a proposed line-up to replace some of its staff who were to be sent on compulsory leave.Among IEBC employees to be affected according to the reports were IEBC Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba who was to be replaced by Marjan Hussein Marjan. Immaculate Kassait (Director of Voter Registration) was to be replaced by Patrick Odame. Salome Oyugi was to substitute Praxidis Tororey (Head of Legal Affairs). James Muhati (IT Director) was to be replaced by Michael Ouma while Decimah M'mayi was proposed to act Deputy Commission secretary replacing Betty Nyabuto.IEBC through a statement on Tuesday dismissed the claims as fake news."We are faced with another spell of fake news. Kindly ignore story on purported staff changes at the Commission. We tell it when there is," said IEBC.

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has called on Chebukati to clean his house ahead of the re-run claiming some officials were involved in the August 8 election irregularities.
