Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has dismissed claims by NASA coalition that its Presidential candidate Raila Odinga won the August 8, 2017 election.

In a press briefing on Friday, Siaya Senator James Orengo claimed that Raila and his rubnning mate Kalonzo Musyoka won last year's election after garnering over 8 million votes as compared to President Uhuru Kenyatta's 7.9 million votes.

But while dismissing the claims by NASA, the poll body disowned the data terming it 'strange'.

"On August 10 NASA came up with strange data purposed to be Presidential results which turned out to be fake. We can confidently state that it was no any different today, " said the commission in a post on its Twitter handle.

In the August 8 poll, IEBC declared Uhuru the winner after garnering over 8.2 million votes compared to Raila's 6.7 million.

Raila challenged the results in the Supreme Court and Uhuru's election was nullified and fresh election ordered which the former Premier boycotted.

NASA wants to use the August 8 election results which Raila allegedly won as their basis of their 'swearing in' on January 30.
