Nandi senator Samson Cherargei has reiterated that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has all the rights to reject the irreducible minimums presented to them by the National Super Alliance (NASA).
According to the senator, the irreducible minimums have no moral authority, legal backing and are not economically justifiable.
In his view, IEBC has taken the required measures meant to provide free, fair, transparent and credible and he has faith on the electoral body to conduct the election slated for October 26.
"IEBC has all the rights to reject the irreducible minimums by NASA. The demands lack moral authority, are not legally backed and are not economically justifiable. IEBC has already taken steps to ensure the election will be free, fair, transparent and credible and so doing, I have faith in them conducting the October 26 poll," Cherargei reiterated.
The senator further accused NASA of victimization concerning the 'Nairobi business community'. He believes not everyone rocking dreadlocks is associated with the said group.
"NASA is unfairly victimizing everybody who has dreadlocks by saying such people belong to the 'Nairobi business community'. Dreadlocks is just a trend that has been embraced by many young people and thus it is wrong for NASA to make such an assumption," added Cherargei.
He made his remarks on Friday on KTN News TV during a political debate.
