IEBC has sacked four election officials from Vihiga county for allegedly having links with Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party.
The move by IEBC comes after Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga claimed that ANC was plotting to rig the Tuesday polls.
The four – Akjalakwa Recho, Catherine Jayo, Ongadi Mulegi and James Aluda – are said to be on Amani’s nomination list gazetted by IEBC.
Akaranga’s PPK wrote to IEBC on August 3 saying stating that the officials are ANC candidates picked to work as election officials.
They were appointed as deputy presiding officers and clerks.
“Yes, we found their names in the gazetted nomination list and quickly resolved to terminate their services,” deputy county returning officer Charles Avedi confirmed.
He said arrangements were in place to replace the four.
