Garissa Township MP aspirant Farah Maalim has lashed out at the IEBC and security agents in Garissa County claiming that they are trying to favor Jubilee candidates in the county to subvert the people’s will ahead of the August 8 polls.
The Wiper Party candidate said that there will be no violence if the IEBC conducts free, fair and credible polls as the security agents concentrate on ensuring there is peace.
“Let’s not cheat one another that people fight over polls. The genesis of violence is those mandated to manage elections try to manipulate results by rigging and going against the will of the people,” he said as reported by Star.
“We’ve information that some people plan to use security agents and IEBC officials to steal votes in August. You must guard against this if we are to avoid plunging the country into violence,” Maalim reiterated.
Maalim was speaking on behalf of NASA candidates on Thursday night during a peace meeting convened by IEBC in Garissa county.
