Retired Kisii judge Walter Omanga has called upon the national government to disband IEBC to save Kenya from wrangles.
He says it is easier to face the consequences of disbanding IEBC than consequences that may arise as a result of lack of trust.
“The Jubilee government should disband IEBC to lower political temperatures and sit down with the opposition on way forward to establish an independent body that both candidates have faith in,” he said.
He added that for the purposes of peace and satisfaction from both sides a neutral party that both parties have confidence in should conduct the elections.
“How do we go on a race when I feel the referee is leaning towards your side? I will feel insecure and even if I lose I will not be contented and still have the notion that it was biased which is dangerous when it comes to the general elections. We should at the bigger picture of the dire consequences of not disbanding the IEBC,” he said.
