It is now evident that Raila Odinga has commenced his presidential push to the statehouse using the anti IEBC demonstrations.
As exhibited during his recent political rallies, it is undoubtedly true that the opposition supporters have already endorsed him as the coalition's flag bearer.
His co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula should now come to terms with this harsh reality and rally behind Raila who is seemingly shining in the political limelight ahead of the 2017 elections.
As witnessed at Uhuru Park rally on Wednesday, opposition youth especially from Kibera have adopted him as their king and even hoisting banners in his support.
Raila's conviction on reforming the IEBC is founded on the fact that if any malpractices were to emerge, then he will the biggest looser.
He is fully aware that his supporters in his strongholds will never accept anything closer to Wetangula or Kalonzo leading the coalition.
As fate could have it, the month-long standoff has earned Raila a greater following both by the electorate and the media fraternity.
It has gone further to attract international attention with some foreign politicians offering their financial sympathies.
Incidentally, all these work for the better in his political career.
Interestingly, the opposition has garnered support from other political parties that have showed intention of having presidential aspirant come 2017.
Kanu, for instance, has rallied behind Cord and this is a welcome to Raila whose popularity is drastically declining in the Rift Valley region.
Therefore, the longer the IEBC issue persists, the higher the following that Raila Odinga attracts from the public.
