All is set for the second phase of Mass Voter Registration exercise in the Central Rift Region which comprises of Samburu, Baringo, Laikipia and Nakuru counties.

Central Rift Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Coordinator David Towett said everything was ready for the exercise with the distribution of registration materials.

“All is set for the second phase of Mass Voter registration in the Central Rift Region. As we speak now, we are already distributing the BVR kits to the four Counties,'' he said.

Towett disclosed they were targeting to register 520,036 new voters. 27,118 in Samburu; 83,000 in Baringo; 81,000 in Laikipia and 227,000 in Nakuru.

“As Central Rift Region we are targeting to register 520,036 new voters in this exercise. We have 2,351 registration centers and we are in the process of deploying BVR kits to 676 centers,'' said Towett.

The exercise kicks off January 15 to February 16, nationwide.
