Photo: Citizen TV The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially announced the holding of a mock election just two months before the General Elections.The mock election is purposed to test the poll equipment which will arrive in Kenya on Sunday, April 9th from the Safran, a French security and identification company. The first equipment which will arrive on Sunday and will be set for the mock election and used later in the General Election after it is confirmed to be in good working condition.Despite the information on the election, IEBC is yet agreed on the venue for the event.
IEBC was not sure about offering the poll equipment tender to Safran because the company was somehow linked to NASA luminary Raila Odinga and also had issues with tax compliance.
How IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said the tender was awarded to Safran after it proved they could deliver within the required timelines.
