Mwala residents have been advised to take advantage of the Mass Voter Registration that will be conducted by Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission on February 12, 2016.
Speaking in Wamunyu town on Tuesday former Mwala Member of parliament Daniel Muoki said that residents should come out in big numbers during that time and register themselves so as to be eligible for voting.
Muoki said that the Kamba community has always been reluctant in registering as voters.
He encouraged residents not only to register but also ensure they vote during elections.
He said that apathy by some of the residents will deny them a chance to elect desirable leaders.
He noted that a good future is determined by the choice of leaders we make saying that many people, unfortunately, vote in talking leaders instead of performing ones.
Muoki also lauded Kamba leaders for their effort in urging people to register themselves as voters ahead of 2017 polls.
"Your vote is the only weapon to kick out bad leaders and elect the good one," said Muoki.
