The electoral body, IEBC, is set to give the way forward on the suspended polls in four counties on Sunday. The IEBC chair, Wafula Chebukati, on Saturday said the commission is consulting on important issues concerning the polls and will give a report the following day. He said the commission had decided to suspend the polls after they were notified all the election materials had not arrived in the said areas. The affected constituencies included Alego Usonga, Awendo, Bondo, Gem, Ugenya, Homa Bay Town, Kabondo, Karachuonyo, Kasipul, Kisumu Central, Kisumu East, Kisumu West, and Muhoroni. Ndhiwa, Suba North, Nyakach, Nyatike, Rongo, Rarieda, Suba South, Suna East, Suna West, Nyando, Seme, Uhuru, and Ugunja were also affected. Mr Chebukati further disclosed that the commission cannot determine at this point whether it will go ahead and announce the winner before conducting the remaining polls or whether it has to hold until the entire exercise is conducted.
