The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is considering scrapping some senior positions in a new management structure.
IEBC seeks to reduce regional election coordinators and managers from 17 to 10 in the first major changes, The Star reports.
The position of deputy chief electoral officer in charge of operations is also likely to be scrapped.
The changes are understood to be meant to reduce costs and revamp service delivery.
Deputy chief electoral officer Betty Nyabuto exited the commission on Monday after her five-year contract expired.
IEBC has been accused of being partisan in elections, with the opposition saying it lacks the ability to conduct free, fair and credible polls.
