The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has been urged to draw lessons from the just concluded party primaries.
A section of religious leaders from the North Rift region have said the body should pick lessons in order to conduct a free, fair and credible August 8 General Election.
The clergy, under the banner of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), have expressed dissatisfaction in the manner in which political parties conducted their nominations.
The leaders condemned the violence that was witnessed in some parts of the country.
They were led by Bishop Christopher Ruto of the Anglican Church of Kenya – Eldoret Diocese.
“Those who lost in nominations should accept defeat and unite with the winners so as to work together for the sake of a peaceful Kenya. We should also encourage all women aspirants and give them the respect that their male counterparts enjoy,” said Bishop Ruto.
