The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has petitioned the court to terminate a case filed by CORD challenging the award of a tender to audit firm KPMG for the review of voters register.
According to the commission, the audit of the register of voters was subjected to views by stakeholders and at no point during the consultative meetings with the opposition and other political parties did the commission receive any objection, reservations or opinions with regards to the alleged lack of commissioners to make the impugned decisions.
“The commission did not breach or go against the ec-parte Applicant legitimate expectations, “states IEBC.
The electoral body says CORD has not shown that it has suffered or there is likelihood that it will suffer any injury in future as a consequence of the impugned decision.
