Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) communications manager Andrew Limo warned that politicians who fail to abide by the order risk hefty penalties.

According to the agency, campaign billboards have been erected in various parts of the Country, creating unnecessary political tension, yet campaign dates are yet to be announced.

"We are reminding politicians that the campaign period is yet to begin. They should not engage in early campaigns because they risk legal action,'' he warned.

Limo said the Commission was going to advise its coordinators to forward pictures and images of the erected billboards and names of their owners to the commission’s headquarters for legal action.
