The electoral commission is ready to meet NASA to address their demands ahead of repeat poll due next month, chairman Wafula Chebukati has said.

Addressing the press on Thursday, Chebukati said the electoral agency was open to meeting the Opposition to iron out any matters that may delay the poll.

"I am positive that we are going to sit down and, for the sake of the country, come up with a solution to issues that might be an impediment to holding the election on October 17," he said, as quoted by the Nation.

Chebukati assured Kenyans that the commission is ready for the election despite increasing demands from political parties.

"There will be demands but we also have answers. If we sit around the table, most questions will be explained. I don't think they will hamper our preparations,"  he added.

The IEBC boss added: "Despite these meetings, we are going with the arrangements. All processes are in place."

NASA has stuck to their guns demanding that all the major concerns they raised should be addressed before they can participate in the fresh election.

Among their demands is sacking of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other 10 officials who they accuse of bungling August 8 general election.
