As an independent body given the mandate to deliver free, fair and credible elections, we put in place several measures to ensure your vote was protected.
Here are the steps we took to ensure credibility of the August 8 general election:1. After voting, your votes were counted in front of political party agents and observers.2. Political party agents and observers witnessed the count and verified the results by signing the results Form 34As.3. At the end of the counting, the results were keyed into the KIEMS device and the Presiding Officer scanned a copy of Form 34As.4. Both the keyed results and scanned Form 34As were transmitted electronically to the constituency and national tallying centers.5. The keyed results were broadcasted live on TV.The scanned Form 34As are available to members of the public at http://forms.iebc.or.keThe final declaration of results were based on the results on form 34As, 34Bs and 34C.
