The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has implemented new measures to ensure all results transmitted are verified.

During a statement issued on Tuesday, IEBC highlighted how the Forms 34A must be scanned and sent for authenticated.

All Presiding Officers (POs) have been cautioned against submitting presidential results via SMS.

Forms 34B must also be scanned and sent from their respective constituencies to the national tallying center.

From the all Forms 34A and 34B will be uploaded and avail them to the public.

"Unlike in the last poll, scanned images of result forms will be given priority over text. All forms 34As&Bs will be on the public portal," the IEBC announcement read.

POs are also responsible for entering the results onto the Kenya Integrated Electoral Management System (KIEMS) then submit the forms to the constituency tallying centre.

"During the August 8th elections, the results transmission system application on the tablet allowed (officials) to send text results only after a first failed attempt. This option will be removed: only both text and image will be allowed," a statement from the firm explained.
