A wave of attacks in North Eastern that has claimed at least 30 lives in a span of one month.
On Tuesday 6th, four people lost their lives after an improvised explosive device blew up the vehicle they were travelling in along Daadab-Kulan road, Garissa County. The automobile belongs to a Non-Governmental Organization operating in the region.
One person survived but sustained life threatening injuries during the attack. This adds to a serious of similar attacks that has led to at least 30 deaths with humanitarian and government vehicles being the target.
Even the uniformed men and women are among the casualties. In separate incidences in Mandera and Garissa, Kenya lost eight officers. Five of them part of Governor Ali Roba’s security.
They perished when their Land cruiser ran over an IDE between Lafey and Arabia in Mandera County. Three more Administration Police officers lost their lives after their vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device on Kulan-Liboi road.
This transpired in Garissa County, seven kilometers from Kulan. The attack left five officers with serious injuries.
There are no arrests made after the police launched a manhunt for the attackers. However, the Al Shabaab terror group has claimed responsibility.
