The head of opposition coalition NASA strategic team Mr David Ndii has revealed one of the drastic measures the team will take in case the Supreme Court fails to consider the evidence they have relayed challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.
While speaking on NTV on Tuesday night, Ndii defended their move of going the mass action way if the courts fail to give them 'justice'.
"We have been calling for mass action since 1991 and we will not stop as long as some people try to restore dictatorship,” he said during an interview with Larry Madowo on NTV.
"If change cannot come through the ballot, it will come through the bullet," he added.
Ndii tried to explain that, by conducting mass action the NASA team was not in anyway advocating for violence but blamed the government for initiating it because as protestors they conduct peaceful demonstration he said.
“Protestors do not kill, they only resist oppression. It is the police who shoot and kill when protesters resist. Any killing is initiated by the government. We will call for mass action,” he said.
Ndii echoed the sentiments of NASA leader Raila Odinga that Kenyans should desist from the culture of accepting and moving on when they feel their rights are being trampled on.
“We need to discuss why Kenya should stay together just like in an abusive relationship people talk and agree either to break up or move on,” he said.
NASA has challenged the reelection of Uhuru at the Supreme Court with the verdict of the highest court in the land is expected to be pronounced by September 1st.
