Jubilee Deputy Party Leader William Ruto, has called on Murang'a residents and Kenyans at large, to vote for his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He asked them to come out in large numbers and elect Uhuru, so that he secures his position, as the deputy president.

Ruto who eyes presidency in 2022, said he will be done, if Uhuru losses to Jubilee rivals, Nasa, in the August 8 elections.

He accompanied Uhuru to camoaign in the vast Murang'a county, Thursday, an area perceived to be Jubilee Party's stronghold.

"Please come out in large numbers in August. Nasa should not be allowed to win. If President Uhuru, who is my boss loses, I'm finished," said Ruto, as he addressed supporters, in a roadside rally.

Ruto is rallying support for Uhuru, so as he wins, for a smooth sailing to his 2022 bid.

Critics say if Uhuru loses in August, by serving as a one term president, Ruto will have it rough to survive in the 2022 political arena.

Several politicians such as Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, Meru's Peter Munya, Machakos' Dr Alfred Mutua, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka, among others, are eyeing presidency in 2022 as well.
