Siaya senator James Orengo has warned the Jubilee administration against mistreating Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho.

He said Joho is the people's choice and deserves respect.

Speaking after recording a statement at Mombasa Regional DCI offices, Orengo noted the Opposition was angry with the manner in which president Uhuru Kenyatta's administration has been handling the governor.

The lawyer said whoever harasses Joho, harasses the entire Kenya and would be ''dealt with''.

"I want to call on Mombasa residents, do not be afraid. We will win! Whoever touches Joho, touches the entire Kenya; whoever touches Joho, touches Raila Amolo Odinga! And as a lawyer, no one will harass Joho as I watch. We have a lot of lawyers, including Kilifi governor (Amason Kingi),'' Orengo said, amid cheers from the crowd.

He added that whoever harasses Kingi would not be spared.

According to the lawmaker, last weekend's ODM rally in Mombasa gave Jubilee government 'sleepless nights', hence the continued 'torture' against Joho.

He addressed supporters at the Treasury Square.
