Mombasa High Court Judge Justice Erick Ogola has directed the Inspector General (IG) of police Joseph Boinnet to present an 18-year-old Hosni Mubarak at the court on June 29, 2018.
Police in Majengo allegedly kidnapped the boy on May 25 at 2:30pm after which his whereabouts remained unknown forcing his parents to launch a complaint, suing the police.
While issuing the order on Monday, Justice Ogola said regardless of who kidnapped or arrested the boy, it is against the law to detain any suspect for more than 24-hours.
Led by the boy's father Khalid Bakari, the family said they visited several police stations looking for him and launched complaint with the police in vain.
Meanwhile a family in Watamu, Malindi Constituency is calling for help, after their son went missing.
20-year-old Abdi Muhammad was allegedly arrested by the police who have since kept his whereabouts unknown.
According to his sister, Izara Muhammad, two armed persons who identified themselves as police officers with a probox vehicle allegedly arrested Muhammad while he was selling in his shop and took him to an unknown station.
Speaking to the press Izara said it has been a week now since the incident happened and that efforts to trace him in several police stations such as Kilifi, Malindi, Mtwapa and Watamu have not been fruitful.
Muhammad's family is now calling for help, saying the government should provide them with their son.
The incident comes a week after the ODM party decried cases of enforced disappearances in the larger coast region, during a press briefing after a PG meeting in Shanzu.
ODM blamed the incidents to state agents and further asked relevant authorities to provide those who disappeared.
