Mainstream newspapers have reported that Raila Odinga has abandoned the swearing-in option as had been demanded by the NASA rank and file.

In a rejoinder to these reports, NASA CEO Norman Magaya has asked opposition supporters to treat those reports with the contempt that they deserve.

''My message to all our gallant supporters: please ignore the raw state propaganda perpetuated by the Sunday Nation. Our determination remains unbowed. Our resolve to install a people leadership remains on course. We know time is of essence & will conclude it in a few days.'' Norman Magaya tweeted.

NASA is scheduled to hold a ''mega-rally'' at the Jacaranda Stadium in Nairobi designed to honor those who lost lives during Odinga's arrival into the country.

Several supporters lost their lives during bloody confrontations with the police who lobbed tear gas canisters and fired live rounds in an attempt to dismiss the crowds that accompanied Odinga's convoy.
