Lamu County Women Representative Shakillah Abdallah has dispelled rumours she is in critical condition following a tragic road accident two days ago.

Shakillah, who spoke for the first time after the accident, said that though her vehicle rolled three times near Witu area, she survived with minor injuries.The Women Rep said that reports that she has been admitted at King Fahad Hospital in critical condition are not true, adding that Lamu residents should ignore such rumour mongers.“I thank God I magically survived the tragic accident. My car rolled three times but I am still alive,” said Shakillah at her Lamu home.She said her driver and communications director Ibrahim Jaafar Olum also escaped with minor injuries.Shakilla further said that she is still in the race to defend her seat come August.“I am still in the political arena and will defend my seat in the next four months,” she added.I was in the same Prado car that was involved in the accident and we all received treatment and got discharged. What you are hearing from locals are only rumours,” said Olum.
