Ms Noor said the current drought being experienced in most parts of the country has forced thousands of residents in the region to stare at hunger and starvation.

Ms Noor said the relief food will be distributed to the affected families to ensure that the suffering brought about by the current situation is minimized

The legislator flagged off 1, 000 bags of famine relief food, water tanks and animal feeds which will be given to pastoralists in the area.

“The distribution of relief food in Ijara Sub County will help hundreds of local people faced with severe drought,” she said.

Ms Noor instructed Ijara Deputy County Commissioner, Julius Too to distribute the relief food accordingly.

She also gave a D7 tractor which will de-silt water pans in Hara location.

The MP also challenged other stakeholders and well-wishers to assist the government in combating the hunger menace by contributing either money or food to assist the hunger stricken families.
