Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant Ann Waiguru has said she will appoint her rival, Martha Karua, a village elder if she wins the August elections.
The Star reports that Waiguru made the statement in Kerugoya town after being cleared by the IEBC to vie for the governor seat.
She said her rival, Karua, was old and should have run for higher office or quit politics all together.
Karua made a surprise U-turn after flirting with the opposition and is now supporting the re-election bid of Jubilee presidential candidate, Uhuru Kenyatta.
The former Devolution CS expressed confidence that she will trounce her opponents come August 8.
She said she has no differences with Governor Peter Ndathi, who will be defending his seat as an independent candidate.
Waiguru beat Ndathi in the Jubilee nominations.
She was cleared to vie for public office amid allegations of masterminding the Sh1.6 billion National Youth Service scandal.
National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) recommended she be barred from holding any public office.
Waiguru, however, denied being involved in the NYS theft. She last week claimed that PAC members asked her for a Sh10 million bribe so as to be cleared of the allegations, but she declined.
