Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has told his supporters to keep calm and wait to celebrate his victory after the August 8 election.Ranguma who is vying on an independent ticket told his opponents his development record speaks for itself expressing confidence he will win during the poll.ODM handed the nomination certificate to Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong’o after being controversially declared winner during the party’s nomination exercise.“I have in the last several days been listening to my supporters and residents of Kisumu County, to understand their views about the sham ODM nominations in Kisumu,” Ranguma said on Thursday.“The residents are saddened that, despite having fought vigorously for electoral reforms, their votes cannot count within their own party today.They have vowed, however, that the same votes will resoundingly count in August this year, and that they will give this county the leadership they desire.”“I want to make it clear to the county and Kenya, therefore, that after listening to the petition of the residents of Kisumu, my name will be appearing in the ballot in the next general election, as Jack Nyanungo Ranguma. No more guess work.”He said he will soon unveil his running mate to clear doubt that he was considering bowing out of the race.“In due course, I will be unveiling my running-mate and the entire team that will assist me steer the county through to 2022,” Ranguma said at a press conference in Kisumu.“I can promise now that the composition will be all inclusive, touching on every corner of the greater Kisumu County.”Despite accusing some ODM party officials of rigging him out during party primaries, he said he will campaign for opposition Chief Raila Odinga as he takes a fourth stab at the presidency.
