Mambo said although she lost out to the current Senator James Mungai in the 2013 polls, she has consulted widely with voters and is convinced she should run for the seat again.

“I have been talking with the voters, some tell me to vie for woman rep seat, others say governor, but a majority are for the senator and I will obey their wish because they are the voters,” she said Monday during an interview with Inooro TV.

The politician said women leadership has been looked down upon because they do not have the muscle to fight men in politics.

She said though some women have been elected previously, men have always taken the biggest share in terms of elective positions.

“Women can be very good leaders because they are focused and have got very high integrity but lack financial power which men have and they always use it to woo voters,” she said.

She also championed for the girl-child education, stating that lack of proper education for women in the past has led to hitches on their leadership today.

“Back in those days, many women never went to school but today, things are changing and with good education, women have the power to ask for votes,” she said.
