After losing in the ODM nominations for the Nyali parliamentary seat, former KTN journalist Mohammed Ali has declared that he will be on the ballot in the August 8 polls.According to the results in the contest that shaped up to be a two-horse race, Ali polled 2,987 votes against his bitter rival Said Abdallah's 3,671 votes. However, speaking during an interview with a local TV station, the former investigative journalist said he will challenge the nomination results at the party's National Elections Board.Moha who accused Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and ODM Mombasa chairman Mohamed Hatimy of allegedly conspiring to rig him out in favour of Said alias Saedo who is Joho's cousin, said should the elections board fail to rule in his favour, he will run as an independent candidate."I will be on the ballot on August 8, with or without ODM.......We are taking Jicho Pevu to parliament," he said. The former Journalist further claimed that voting in his perceived strongholds started at 3pm and that the voters' names were missing in the registers, a move he says was meant to suppress his supporters. He further said the exercise was turned into a county government function as most county officials were involved.
