Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has affirmed that he will continue pushing for the dissolution of small parties before the next general elections.
Speaking at a rally at Katoloni Market on Sunday, Muthama maintained that there is no need to have small parties in the region yet they are not fielding any presidential candidate in the upcoming general elections.
According to Muthama, the leaders of the briefcase parties are only pretending to support Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s Presidency but in real sense they are dividing the people of Ukambani.
Where is the sense in having Narc if its leader Charity Ngilu is not going for the presidency, or CCU's Wavinya Ndeti, Muungano and the so-called Chap Chap?" he asked, as quoted by The Star.
The outspoken senator also rubbished claims that there is a political rift between him and Wiper Party boss.
The senator said that Kalonzo only said that he was being too hard on Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and nothing more but the press blew everything out of proportion.
“I told him that when you find a snake on your wife’s back you do not just sit and watch it. You hit it regardless of whether you will be injuring your wife at the same time," said Muthama.
"That did not mean I have any political differences with Kalonzo,” he added.
