Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has yet again reiterated that he would defeat his competitors squarely claiming they have no ‘agenda’ for the county’s prosperity.
The county chief is facing fierce competition from political heavyweights among them West Mugirango MP James Gesami and Jomo Kenyatta Foundation chair Walter Nyambati.
Addressing selected youths from across the county at his official residence, Nyagarama highlighted his development record and urged residents to help him deliver under the devolved system.
“My competitors do not understand devolution because all they tell people is that I have underperformed. However, when I look at the state of our health facilities, roads, and even early childhood education, I can proudly say I have done something worthy to be remembered,” he said.
Nyagarama added: “I have even been supporting agriculture by purchasing fertiliser to peasant farmers among many things. Through my work, I am confident that I will send them packing by 8am because they have no agenda for our people.”
He also seized the opportunity to lecture youths on the positive usage of social media by encouraging them to use it constructively.
“Social media is a new communication medium which has changed the world. My government has benefitted a lot through constructive criticism by you. However, it’s important that it’s used objectively by avoiding defaming characters and that is the best thing youths can do,” he said.
