President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto are going home after August 8 general elections.

Speaking during a rally in Bomet County on Wednesday, National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga said Kenyans have no confidence in the Jubilee leaders because they have failed to improve their livelihoods.

He cited the high cost of living and collapsing of various industries as signs to show Uhuru and Ruto have lost control of the country.

"Kenyans have lost faith in Jubilee and this is a free ticket for them to go home in the first round," Raila said.

The former Prime Minister said Jubilee administration had forsaken maize and tea growers adding that farmers in the South Rift had nothing to celebrate about Uhuru's leadership.

"Jubilee government has completely failed farmers. Tea farmers have had to survive on poor prices for their produce due because the government has failed to intervene," he said speaking at Ndanai trading centre in Sotik.

The Opposition leader urged residents to support NASA, saying he is optimistic of defeating President Kenyatta in the first round.

"Kenyans have committed to support NASA and we are sure of more than 10 million votes in next month's poll," he said.

Raila pledged that his administration would address, among other things, milk prices and maize farming challenges.
