Following weeks of speculation as to whether Duale will remain in Garissa Township or shift to Balambala, the outspoken Garissa politician has finally disclosed that he will remain at his current Garissa Township.
Speaking on Saturday in his constituency, Duale said the news circulating in the media that he was shifting his political representation was just but rumours being propagated by his bitter rivals out to make a milestone by confusing the electorate.
"The reports circulating that I am moving to Balambala are rumours. I do not plan to shift my political base from Garissa constituency. The news is being spread by my political detractors who only want to cause confusion among my supporters," he said.
Recently, some members of the larger Abduwak community where Aden Duale comes from had announced that he would shift his politics to Balambala.
Early this month, over 500 youths from the Abduwak clan lobbied for his reelection as Garissa Township MP, and carried placards around the town chanting support for the MP.
