Jubilee’s Lamu governor hopeful Fahim Twaha has promised to give the incumbent, Governor Issa Timamy, a run for his money in the forthcoming general election.

Twaha, who spoke after being presented with his nomination certificate, said August 8 will mark the end of poor governance in the county.

He said he does not fear his opponents as he is well-prepared to deliver the seat to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

Twaha further rubbished speculations by the opposition that he does not have the support to propel him to power in August.

“They say I do not have support but then spread propaganda that I am not vying. Why? They are scared. I am in the race and they will see dust,” he said.

Earlier on, NASA leaders from the counnty including ODM’s point man Rishad Amana had called upon its principals to consider joint nominations to counter Jubilee’s forays in the county ahead of the August polls.

“It is so confusing. Some of them are projects. If NASA allows the three in the race, Jubilee will win the seat at 10am in the morning,” said Amana during an interview with The Star.

On his part, Timamy, who was elected on an ANC party ticket, said he is confident of retaining his seat.
