Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has assured Sotik Estate Branch tea workers of their 30 per cent salary increment.
Addressing the workers who are on their fourth day of strike at Mokomoni market, Momanyi said the court ruled in their favour for a pay rise, and the company must ensure it addresses the matter urgently.
"You had lawyers and the company had theirs and you won. I will ensure that you are paid your money," said Momanyi.
The branch secretary Stephen Nyamweno said the workers will not resume work until they are paid their dues.
"We will not go back to work until we are paid our money, we toiled in courts until we won why are they not paying us? "posed Nyameino Momanyi.
He condemned the police for arresting the workers who were demonstrating to demand for their right terming it unconstitutional.
"It's wrong to arrest somebody who is seeking justice. Let's not be unconstitutional, and ensure the workers who were arrested are released," noted Momanyi.
