Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has assured the Somali community that he is dedicated to defend their political rights.
According to Joho, the Somali community is just like any other Kenyan community and it deserves to enjoy the fruits of democracy.
Speaking during a fundraiser in Wajir, Joho affirmed that he was not only fighting for the rights of the minority communities such as Somali, but also devolution to ensure that there is equitable distribution of the national cake.
Joho was in the company of Junet Mohammed, MP Kisauni Ramadhan Bedzimba, Ahmed Papa (Langata 001), Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga and Rosemary Odinga.
Joho and his team were hosted by Wajir Governor Hon Ahmed Abdullahi, Deputy Governor Abdihafid Sheikh Yarrow, Wajir West MP Hon Abdikadir Ore and Wajir Women Representative Hon. Fatuma Ibrahim in Wajir where theye raised a total of Sh11.6 Million towards Madrasatul Al-Hudda and Al-Taqwa.
The governor was on a mission to popularise the Orange Democratic Movement in different parts of the nation as ODM looks forward to electing CORD leader and former prime minister Raila Odinga as the President come 2017.
ODM gave Joho the mandate to spearhead the presidential campaign after he exhibited good leadership skills and political tricks that saw the movement win more seats at the coast.
