Former senior coalition advisor to opposition leader Raila Odinga Miguna Miguna has said he will never recognise Nairobi governor-elect Mike Sonko as his county head.

Miguna said Sonko has multiple integrity tests to pass before he can recognise the former MP as governor.

Sonko was elected Nairobi governor on August 8 after beating his closest rival incumbent Evans Kidero of the National Super Alliance.

Others in the race included Miguna and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.

Miguna and Sonko have been engaging in verbal altercations since campaigns for the August 8 general elections begun.

While Sonko labels Miguna as a non-performer who has no capacity to transform Nairobi, Miguna alleges Sonko is a corrupt leader under whose hands Nairobi operations cannot be entrusted.

“I will never recognise Sonko as my governor. Period,” Miguna posted on his official Twitter account.

Sonko campaigned round the clock in his quest to elbow out Kidero who he accuses of running down the city by failing to implement primary development projects aimed at uplifting the livelihoods of city residents.
