He says that his government will not condone graft if elected.] (Photo: kenya-today.com)Garissa Jubilee Governor hopeful Ali Bunow Korane has said that his administration will put in place stringent measures to curb against corruption and misuse of public resources if he clinches the gubernatorial seat on August 8.
Addressing supporters during a campaign rally on Tuesday, the former Permanent Secretary (PS) promised to jealously guard public resources from looters.’
Korane stated that her government will act tough on employees or officials implicated or found culpable of corruption.
Korane noted that Garissa people have not fully enjoyed devolution as a result of alleged corruption and embezzlement of county resources by some officials in Governor Nathif Jama’s government.
“I will defend and protect public resources especially money against looters whose aim is to enrich themselves at the expense of serving the people,” he said.
Korane said that his administration will establish an anti-graft department to monitor and take action on officials who will be implicated in corruption.
The former PS warned residents against voting for leaders who have been mentioned or linked to corruption.
He said that voting for leaders with questionable character and integrity will plunge the county into economic instability.
The Jubilee governor hopeful asked locals to support his bid saying that she has a development vision for residents.
Korane claimed that the incumbent administration has not done enough to uplift the living standards of the people.
The former PS is battling seeking to unseat governor Jama who is defending his seat on Wiper Party ticket.
