Kitui Senator David Musila has put rogue contractors in his political backyard on notice if elected as the next county boss.

Speaking to faithfuls at Nzalae Deliverance Church in Mwingi West constituency, Musila said that rogue contractors will receive a dose of their medicine if he is given the mandate to become the governor of the region.

According to Musila, these contractors will not receive a single cent from the county bank account when that time comes. He affirmed that his government will not award tenders irregularly like it has been witnessed in the current leaders as soon as he takes over Kitui County.

“All unpaid tenders will be re-evaluated and audited before I authorise payment. If due diligence was not followed, payment will be vetoed,” he said, as quoted by the Star.

The outspoken senator reminded the contractors who have been using dubious channels to get contractors that their days are numbered since he is out to change the way things are done.

“I will ensure prudent use of funds. Rogue contractors have plundered the county and done shoddy work. Unscrupulous contractors should know their time is up,” he added. The senator has affirmed that he will go for the county’s top seat with or without the support of his boss and former vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
