Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has said she will not back Deputy President William Ruto's bid for the presidency come 2022.

Speaking on NTV Wednesday evening, Karua said she had made her democratic choice not to support Ruto.

"My support was basically for President Kenyatta, and yes I knew William Ruto was his deputy," she said, in reference to the August 8 elections.

When asked whether she will back Ruto come 2022 general elections, Karua said, "no, it's choice and I am being very upfront. I will not support him."

Karua who vied for the Kirinyaga governorship lost to Jubilee Party candidate Ann Waiguru.

On Wednesday, Kerugoya High Court dismissed Karua's petition against Waiguru's victory.

Lady Justice Lucy Gitari termed the petition as fatally defective, hopeless and incurable after finding that Karua failed to comply with Election (Parliamentary and County) Petition Rules 2017.
