Speaking to journalists in Garissa on Thursday, Korane said that he is ready to work with Jama.

The Jubilee governor elect said that he respects Jama and that he is ready to work with him.

“Governor Jama is one of us and I will reach up to him so that we can work together,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

Korane said that Jama tried in his leadership adding that he is still useful and need by Garissa residents.

Korane floored Jama with 55, 968 votes against Jama’s 50,471 votes. Jama has since disputed the results saying that he will challenge them in in court.

According to the outgoing Wiper governor, there were alleged irregularities in counting and tallying of the votes.

Jama claims that Korane did not have the numbers to win the gubernatorial seat.
