He also said he is proud of himself and his actions and will remain unapologetic over his decision to quit the ODM party.

The lawmaker is among ten elected politicians who were expelled from ODM on Monday following their decision to join other political parties.

He recently re-launched the Labour Party of Kenya which he intends to use for defending his parliamentary seat in 2017.

Others who were shown the exit from the largest opposition party included Mathare MP Steven Kariuki nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama, Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima and Sirisia's John Waluke.

Others were Kwale woman representative Zainab Chidzuga, Viwandani MCA Samwel Nyang'wara, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.

"[I am a] rebel with a just cause," Ababu said on Tuesday through his official Facebook page.

"Proud, unapologetically, unbowing so!"

He cited frustration from a section of top ODM party officials as his reason for relinquishing his Secretary General position.
