Baringo County has been a bastion of political support for the Jubilee administration and yet has been marginalised and neglected as has been the case all over the rest of the country.
Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, has said.
He said Baringo has been neglected, leaving residents insecure, as bandits attack, kill and steal their livestock.
According to Raila, the Jubilee government had no plans of ensuring security prevails in the region.
“A Nasa government promises to prioritise the security of its citizens and resolve inter-community conflicts in a timely and responsible manner to ensure that no Kenyan takes up weapons against his/her fellow Kenyan over pasture or access to water,” Raila, a Nasa presidential candidate, affirmed.Speaking at Marigat accompanied by his deputy running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, and Nasa team mates, they vowed to ensure security prevails in Baringo, within the first three months, if they assume to power.
They had visited the North Rift county to offer solace and hope to the residents who have been suffering “under the yoke of insecurity in the recent past”.
“I assure you that within the first three months of Nasa government, security will be restored and you will live happily like any other Kenyans,” Raila said, as he addressed locals, Thursday.
