Garissa Township MP aspirant Farah Maalim has urged locals to vote wisely on August 8.
Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Thursday, Maalim appealed to locals to make informed decisions by voting for the right leaders.
He said that locals have the power and opportunity in their hands to elect leaders who will make a difference.
The former National Assembly deputy speaker cautioned locals against being influenced to vote for certain leaders who have no development agenda.
“I want to urge Garissa people and Kenyans in general to be wise and endorse leaders who will fight for their interests,” he said.
Maalim stated that development will be realized only if right minded leaders are elected to office.
The Garissa parliamentary seat hopeful also warned locals against voting for leaders with questionable integrity.
He said that Kenyans must vet politicians eyeing seats before endorsing them on August 8.
Meanwhile, Maalim says that he is not afraid of the incumbent Aden Duale. The Wiper party aspirant stated that he is ready to square it out with Duale promising to beat him hands down.
“Duale should prepare for a fierce battle on August 8 because I will send him to early political retirement” he said.
At the same time, Maalim urged locals to maintain peace and calm as the country heads to the polls.
The Garissa parliamentary seat will be among those to watch for in the August 8 polls.
