Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is hopeful that he will be re-elected in the August 8 general elections.

Speaking in Thika on Saturday,  Kabogo said Kiambu residents will elect him for a second term because of the development realised in the region during his first tenure.

“I want a second term so that we can finish all the projects we have initiated. We want to continue creating more jobs for youths and expand the range of services to Kiambu people. This will be achieved when I’m governor,”  Kabogo said as he launched his re-election bid.

The county boss downplayed the United for Kiambu alliance led by his rival Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu saying he will defeat them to retain his seat.

“I’m a seasoned and experienced politician, and I’ll show them dust. I know how to play my cards. April 21 will be the day boys will be separated from men. They better be prepared for a humiliating defeat in the primaries,” stated Kabogo.

Waititu has joined forces with James Nyoro, David Ngari also known as Gakuyo, John Mugwe and Aquiline Njoki  Gathendu to unseat the incumbent.

A titanic battle is expected between Governor Kabogo and Waititu during Jubilee Party primaries slated for April 21, 2017.
