Korane made the remarks when he spoke during Jamhuri Day celebrations at Garissa primary playgrounds on Tuesday.

The Jubilee governor said following polarized campaigns that divided residents along political and clan lines, he is focused to ensure the residents relate well to one another.

"Our people are divided following the divisive politics the country experienced in the past few days but as governor, I will make sure all residents live in peace, unity and harmony irrespective their political affiliations", stated Korane.

He urged elders to help his administration to bring unity and co-existence.

"There will be no development if our people will be divided. Elders and other leaders should be part of bringing unity among the communities", he said. Korane assured that his administration will be inclusive of all clans, elders, women, clerics, the disabled and the youth.
